Over the Campfire

Where's George? #

Over the Campfire is a game where teams are given a raw sausage and a stick and must locate a specific firepit on the other side of camp, cook their sausage, then find a hidden person known only as "George" (If you have a George that loves sausages, epic. However, it is also funny if you get somebody who's name is not George.). The first team to cook their sausage and successfully feed George wins.

How to Play #

Each team starts with one sausage and one cooking stick. Their task is to:

  1. Find the Fire: Navigate across camp and locate the designated campfire (watched by a game leader). This is the only fire allowed for cooking.

  2. Cook the Sausage: Roast their sausage to an acceptable doneness using only the tools provided.

  3. Find George: After cooking, teams must search the campgrounds for George—a hidden person whose location is unknown.

  4. Feed George: Once found, the team must feed George their cooked sausage. First team to do this wins!

Rules #

No Technology: No GPS, phones, or radios may be used to locate either the fire or George.

Only One Fire: All sausages must be cooked at the designated fire. Any sausage cooked elsewhere is invalid.

Fire Watcher: One leader must stay at the fire to verify proper use and prevent cheating.

Food Safety: Sausages must be visibly cooked before being presented to George. Undercooked sausages will be rejected.

No Hints: No one may give clues about George’s location unless it’s a built-in clue mechanism approved by the game leader.

One Sausage Per Team: Teams get one sausage and one stick. If they lose or ruin it, they’re out.
