Kickball
Kick It, Run It, Win It #
Kickball is a fun, fast-paced game that plays like baseball, but instead of hitting a ball with a bat, players kick a rolling ball and run the bases. It's great for large groups and perfect for outdoor fields or playgrounds.
How to Play #
Divide players into two teams. One team starts in the field while the other kicks. The pitcher rolls the ball toward home plate, and the kicker tries to kick it and run to first base. Fielders try to tag the runner or throw the ball to base before they arrive.
Players advance through first, second, third, and home base to score points. Teams switch sides after three outs. You can set a score limit or time limit to determine the winner.
Variations
- Slip n' Slide: Replace the running paths between bases with tarps to create sliding lanes. This variant is ideal for summer camp or hot weather days.
Rules #
Team Setup: Two teams; one fields, the other kicks.
Pitching: The ball must be rolled (not bounced or thrown) to the kicker.
Kicking: The ball must be kicked from behind or on top of home plate.
Running Bases: Players run to first, second, third, and home to score.
Outs: A player is out if:
- The ball is caught in the air.
- They are tagged with the ball while off base.
- The ball is thrown to the base before they arrive.
Three Outs Per Inning: After three outs, teams switch roles.
Winning: The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.
Slip & Slide Rules:
-
Players must slide to reach bases — no running allowed between bases.
-
All sliding should be done feet first or on the stomach — no diving headfirst.
-
A referee or leader should monitor each slide for safety.
