Blanket Volleyball
From Sky to Splash #
Blanket Volleyball is an innovative twist on traditional volleyball, perfect for summer gatherings and team-building activities. Instead of hitting a ball, teams use blankets to catapult water balloons over a volleyball net, aiming to send them crashing into the opposing team's court without bursting.
How to Play #
Teams are formed with each team holding a large blanket between the members, using it to catch and launch water balloons over the net. The game is played on a standard volleyball court, and the objective is to make the water balloon land and burst in the opponent's area, scoring points.
Variations
-
Timed Rounds: Play short rounds to keep the game fast-paced and exciting.
-
Target Zones: Assign different point values to specific areas in the opponent's court.
-
No Water: You may also use a normal ball instead of waterballoons to make an indoor version.
Rules #
Game Setup: Each team uses a blanket as their tool to catch and throw water balloons.
Objective: Score points by making water balloons burst in the opponent’s half of the court.
No Hands: Players can only use the blanket to catch and launch balloons. Hands and other body parts must not touch the balloons.
Scoring: A point is scored each time a balloon bursts in the opposing team’s court.
Balloon Retrieval: If a water balloon hits the ground but does not pop, the balloon is considered popped and will score points. The moderator of the game can come and re-arm the team that scored.
Out of Bounds: Balloons that land outside or on the net do not count.
Match Play: The first team to reach a predetermined score wins.
